All natural, paraben-free, sulfate-free, essential oil, hygienic hand spray safe for kiddos! Essential oils are great, but some people aren't aware of the problems essential oils can cause if not used properly.
My "Clean Hands" hygienic hand spritzer for kiddos:
* makes sure that I've only used essential oils safe for kiddos. I use recommendations from the esteemed aromatherapy expert Robert Tisserand and the essential oils in this spray are technically safe for kiddos 5 and up.
* makes sure that I've used these safe-for-kids essential oils in a safe dilution ratio. Most adults can use a wider variety and more intense essential oils, but for our kids, we want safe and gentle essential oils.
* (Original formula) makes sure that that the safe-for-kids essential oils are combined with the viscous carrier oil of avocado oil or jojoba oil. Using the essential oils in the carrier oil helps protect the skin even more from possible sensitization. To create this aqueous-based spray, I then emulsify the viscous oils into skin-soothing aloe vera gel so can easily be utilized in a spray bottle.
But don't forget, people, including children, can react to all sorts of natural substances. My youngest son (who is now 8) has reacted to essential oil blends before, and I must be careful and vigilant to make sure I use gentle and safe essential oils, and even then, I must be watchful when he uses any new product to see if he reacts. So I recommend everyone do a skin patch test before using any new body product. To do the test, spray a small amount of the product on the inside of the wrist/arm and leave on overnight. If at any time you have a reaction, you should discontinue use of the product. I also recommend that nothing beats washing your hands with soap and water. If you use a hand sanitizer that is strong enough to kill all the bugs, then you have a hand sanitizer that can cause reactions in many, many people, and especially children. My hand sanitizer is created to be an adjunct to good hygiene and when washing your hands is just not possible. Here's to having safe kiddos!
WHO At-Home Formula: The World Health Organization put out information on how to create your own handrub formula at home. You can see the formula here: https://www.who.int/gpsc/5may/Guide_to_Local_Production.pdf?fbclid=IwAR2x_KEGE8g0P1Y76irrzsQpw-sAvDNYCCoVJM2eWbyMj0hGfXhYWsacjCA. (Copy and paste the link). The most important part is to make sure you are using over 60% alcohol - so for example, regular vodka will NOT work. For my friends and family that don't want to create it at home, I have re-created the formula to purchase. This is not a hand sanitizer, as that this product has not been tested for this purpose. This is simply a re-creation of the WHO formula. In addition, I use the proper 95% alcohol in the form of organic cane alcohol, and my percentage of alcohol is close to 80%, making it clearly higher than the 60% recommended by the WHO. Washing your hands with soap and water is still the best way to keep yourselves and your loved ones safe. But this formula could be a backup if washing your hands with soap and water are not available. Stay safe my friends!

* And no fragrance oils. The term "fragrance" can have up to 4,000 separate chemicals, which the FDA does not require the manufacturer to list. Many of these chemicals are carcinogenic, toxic, or hormone disruptors.
